The install notes on the BVE page read:
Finish the setup, then go to the folder where you installed the Tao Framework to, normally C:\Program Files\TaoFramework or C:\Program Files (x86)\TaoFramework. Copy the files Tao.OpenAl.dll, Tao.OpenGl and Tao.Sdl.dll from the bin subfolder into your openBVE directory. Additionally, copy the files alut.dll, SDL.dll and SDL_mixer.dll from the lib subfolder into your openBVE directory. After having copied all of these files, your openBVE folder should now look like this:

You can now deinstall the Tao Framework if so desired.

Don't deinstall the TAO framework! BVE will not rub without the installed runtime version!

Very unlikely, unless you didn't copy the DLL files as described. But if anyone else can confirm this, I would of course change the instructions.

I checked tat out, and the dll's are in the right place. Open BVE started without a problem after I re-installed the runtime TAO version. BTW, I am running under XP pro with 2 MB memory.

Every time I try to install it, it says that the file has encountered a problem and needs to close. I have tried it on a vista laptop and an xp computer and it says pretty much the same thing. I don't think it is something wrong with the install wizard because i have tried it on 2 different machines and it still does not work. Any help would be lovely, thankyou

Which install wizard are we talking about? Tao or OpenAL?
