Pendolino

I am wondering if anyone is working on an OpenBVE (exterior view) version of the Pendolino (390). It seems one of the only main HST's that hasn't been done yet. For those of us who are Virgin fans of the WCML this would be a welcome addition to our trainsets.

Hello jakeboy,

I've modified the Pendolino Class 390 exterior (v1.1) with the permission of his author.

I would love to make an another version with better quality !
The front coach and the rear coach looks really ugly (to me!)
BUT,...
I am a little bit stuck as I am living in Switzerland and not having the possibility to "see" in real the train. All I have is pictures from the Internet.
And 2nd point: I am stuck as well with the "curves" for the front and the AddVertex...
Are you wiling to work together to make a beautiful Pendolino ?

See you

Cramaboule, as a part of my Watford Junction to Rugby project, I'm planning to build a Pendolino of similar quality to the class 323 and 86/87 locomotives which you might have seen in my openBVE videos. As I've discovered though, building trains of this quality, and working on two major route projects plus other things, is probably too much work for me alone. As I've had success in modelling the kinds of curved surfaces found in the class 390, I'd be happy to work with you on a new Pendolino, and such a collaboration would also give me some more time for working on my routes. Please let me know if you're interested.

I'm just referring to creating meshes with numerous faces to give the appearance of moulded surfaces, followed by adding custom vertex normals to smoothly shade the resulting mesh. Scroll down and take a look at the Vertex Normals section of my blog entry here: http://railsimroutes.net/blog/?p=882. Also, scroll down to the image showing how I constructed a power handle with moulded plastic in this blog entry: http://railsimroutes.net/blog/?p=885.

For openBVE rolling stock (with external views, sometimes with animation) it is also possible to visit http://wiki.bve-routes.com/index.php/Op ... ling_stock where you will discover that many trains are already available.

Hello Antony,

I will be happy to help you, or to work together for the Cl390 Pendolino. I've see this "curve effect", but couldn't do much better...
the one herehttp://www.bve-exchange.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5055 or here http://mbonwick.110mb.com/bve.php are exactly the same. I've made it, but I think there are a lot to do to improve it.
Let's start the work...
