I am now translating into Chinese Traditional (Taiwan) (正體中文(台灣)).
As the different regional cultures in the Greater China Region, the translation from English terms are also different.
For example:
1."Brake" can be translated as "煞車", but it can also translated as "緊韌".
2."Blackbox" can be translated as "黑盒" , but it can also translated as "黑匣子" or more meaningful, "行車記錄儀" (Driving recorder).

@efilm: Yes, I meant [commands], not [controls]. Sorry for that.

@UCR683: Ok for Chinese (Taiwan), however, how you translate the terms is up to you. From what I understand, 黑盒 is a very literal translation. If you think that 行車記錄儀 is the more prevalent name for what is meant, use that one. The more important thing is that the meaning is preserved, not necessarily the literal words. As such, use the term which is most appropriate or most wide-spread. If people are not satisfied with some terms you use, they can post their corrections, and then you can discuss on what is best.

There is at least one thing I have noticed which is not your fault in either case: The flyby normal and zooming messages are swapped in openBVE 0.9.0.1, which I have corrected for subsequent releases. Just be aware that this swap is "normal" with 0.9.0.1 and ignore it.

Just a small update.

My translation in French of the interface is in a good way (95% done).
I'm now testing and trying to solve mistakes. In order to do this, I have some questions/requests:
- Can you explain the meaning of the "station_passed_boarding" entry of the [message] section. I've never saw this message during the game and I'm a little bit confused with the English translation.
- Can you please send me translation file of another European language (German...).

The station_passed_boarding notification is displayed whenever you drive away from a station while still boarding, meaning while the doors are still open. It is basically displayed only once the last car leaves the station area. I admit that the message could have been better phrased, and probably, there would also be a better time to display it.

And no, I can't sent you any other language file as I don't currently have any other European language file.

Good point. Try to spot more of those.

Below the [doors] section, add the following lines:

Just to let you know, \x20 represents a space (Unicode codepoint U+0020). I will add translation support for the string with the next revision.

But just as a side note: There are some strings which are in fact not intended to be translated. These include the strings used in the debug output and all of the error messages, which are probably in the hundreds.

Oh, and I have noticed that in your ATS lamps, you use lower case on one lamp. I want to use upper-case only. And just by the way, you don't need to compress the strings if you think they wouldn't fit. I have already created some wider lamp images, so all of the texts will perfectly fit. The same applies to the handles and door indicators. For example, I have previously used "EM" for emergency brake, but will use "EMG" now. All texts will fit, so you can use any abbreviation you think is appropriate and don't need to restrict yourself to two characters.

Okay, I'm nearly ready, just have to test all those keys and iron out any spelling errors I probably left somewhere.
I've also found another little bug: "[keys] period" is not translated.

EDIT: At least on my computer, I've also found something a bit more serious:
Only the "base keys" work on my computer. What I mean is the following:
If I map a control to the Comma key, it works.
If I map it to Shift + Comma (which in writing would give an < on an English keyboard), it works.
But if I map it to < (Less), it doesn't work, no matter in what combinations I press the Comma key.

I'm also having another question regarding keyboard layouts:
American keyboards apparently have one key less than other key layouts (B).
Is that key already supported, or not?
Also as a note to other translators, another key has been physically moved (A).

You are, as always, right. Regarding the period, that is.

However, the comma and less keys are actually supposed to work this way. In the keyboard assignment, you always need to select the base key, and then you can check the modifiers, such as shift, you want to use. Only if you have a dedicated less key on your keyboard, you can select it from the list. There are in fact some keyboard layouts with dedicated less and greater keys. However, as you pointed out earlier, the keys reported by SDL are invariant under the keyboard layout, so it is not taken into account. Supposedly, this has the advantage that games like FPS, which frequently use ASDW keys or something can always preserve the positions on the keyboard, while if the keyboard layout was different, players would have to make some awkward finger movements to reach them. So I guess this was a design choice of SDL and I cannot currently enable layout-specific mappings without some performance overhead and without the player having to remap all of the keys to those actually labeled as such on the particular keyboard.

Actually, on the US International layout, your (B) key is above the return key:

If you enable this layout on your German keyboard, the key above return (backslash) will be in the place of your (B) key.

Okay, I see your point about the extra keys. Maybe something should be added to the documentation, saying you should always use the base key, and not the modified one, unless, as you pointed out, there is a dedicated one.

About the missing key, maybe my drawing was not entirely clear, but the key you are referring to is Key A on my drawing. I.e. instead of the return key on an American keyboard, I use the Hash key on my German keyboard.
I've just fund out, the missing Key B is a dedicated Less key (just as you said).

One term has been additionally added inside the [log] section:
reverser = Reverser

It is used in the text output of the black box as a caption for the column which indicates the state of the reverser. PM me the single line, although this is really not important right now. Of course there might be other additions as well coming in the near future.
