LU Northern Line Problem

Postby failedmuso on Sun, 1st Nov 2009, 14:19

Hi,

Hope I can get some help for a fundamental problem I have with the LU Northern Line route by Steve Green, Keith Hazelton, Paul Jobber & Stephen Cross.

http://www.trainsimcentral.co.uk/northern.htm

I have downloaded the 3 7z packages for the route and the 1995 stock but whenever I run OpenBVE and load up the route, I get the view from the cab and the application just freezes. I have to kill it using Task Manager. I have tried all variants of the route with the same result and I've also tried some other LU stock, all producing the same freeze.

However, I tried the 323 stock that came with the Birmingham X-City south route and that works fine.

I have checked and double checked all the downloaded files, re-downloaded them but still can't get past this freeze.

I'm running the latest version (1.2.2.0) of OpenBVE on an XP machine.

Any help gratefully appreciated :)

I have had the same problem with all of the LU stock on any route I've tried ever since build 1.0.6.2. (e.g. LT_C69_77).

Likewise, other stock such as the 323 work absolutely fine.

I've tried changing resolutions, anti-aliasing etc. to no avail. The Northern line is a particularly good route, so I continue to run it on 1.0.6.2, but dearly wish it would work in the latest 1.2.2.0 version.

Incidentally, there is a lot of stock designated 'OpenBve' that likewise no longer functions in the later versions, while some works fine either in its older BVE4 format or its updated 'Open' version. So far, I have no clue why these anomalies occur.

I'm running Vista 64.

Please do not delete this message:

I have a problem with it as well, when ever i put the brakes on it just freezes. I have a iMac Intel 2 Duo 2.4GHz so it should be fine. Runs every other route perfectly!
